Performance & Capability
Under the hood, the 2026 Mazda CX-5 2.5 S Premium Plus is driven by a SKYACTIV-G 2.5L I-4 direct injection DOHC engine with variable valve control and cylinder deactivation, generating 187HP on regular unleaded fuel. Engine output is directed through a SKYACTIV-Drive 6-speed automatic transmission equipped with paddle shifters, manual-shift mode, and a dedicated transmission oil cooler. Driver control is further enhanced by Mazda Intelligent Drive Select (Mi-Drive), allowing quick toggling between normal, sport, and off-road driving modes. The full-time i-ACTIV AWD system works alongside an independent strut front suspension and multi-link rear suspension to deliver composed handling over uneven or slick surfaces. Delivering an EPA-estimated 24 city MPG and 30 highway MPG, this crossover blends active capability with sensible fuel economy. Exterior performance touchpoints include 19 x 7-inch aluminum alloy wheels with a Black metallic finish wrapped in P225/55R19 all-season tires.
